This print of the 'Pieta' is based on original artwork by Lalo Garcia.

From 1987-1995 Lalo Garcia was the in-house artist/designer for Martinez & Murphy, Inc. of Los Angeles, a liturgical arts and sacred environment company. He designed such special works as the vestments and miters of Pope John Paul II as well as all 350 Roman Catholic bishops for the Pope’s visit to Los Angeles. Mr. Garcia also had the opportunity to design the vestment worn by His Beatitude, Metropolitan Theodosius and other Hierarchies in Russia on the occasion of the millennium of Christianity in 1988.

Recent examples of Lalo’s work can be seen at the Shrine of the Holy Redeemer in Las Vegas, Nevada. Featured work in California can be found at the Beatitudes of Our Lord, La Mirada, All Souls Catholic Church, Alhambra, Saint Bernardine of Siena, Woodland Hills, as well as Santa Rosa Catholic Church in San Fernando. His personal art pieces have been exhibited at the Downey Museum of Art, the Pueblo Gallery on Olvera Street in Los Angeles, Arte Americas in Fresno, the Museum of Mexican Art in Chicago, and the Galeria Posada in Sacramento. Lalo has been a featured artist for the Casa de la Cultura in Las Cruces, New Mexico, Judson Studios, Gallery of Contemporary and Traditional Art, the Sacred Arts Festival, Archdiocese of Los Angeles as well as Community Centers throughout the Southwest. .

Lalo has had the privilege to serve as a member of the Arts and Furnishings Committee for the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in Los Angeles and was bestowed the honor of designing the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe for the Cathedral. Lalo’s unique talents, his love for native culture and his commitment to preserving the folklore of Mexico are reflected in his work.
