Hail Mary beads are red tiger eye (heat-treated to shift the natural brown tiger eye to a warmer red tone). Between them are Swarovsky crystals in deep orange, coordinating with a Hail, Holy Queen bead in natural carnelian. The Our Father beads are chrysocolla, a turquo0ise-colored gemstone. The seed beads pick up all those colors -- yellow, orange, and turquoise -- all to reflect the colors on the hand-painted ivory nut cross. The cross is from el Salvador, and is hand-painted by a local artist. Designs will vary slightly, but all are pastoral and hopeful for a peaceful life. Many, such as the one in this photo, include small animals and plants. Both sides of the cross are painted.
