Carnelian

Natural carnelian, a form of agate, is the main element of this rosary:  the Hail Mary beads (Aves), the Our Father beads (Paters), the Hail Holy Queen bead and the intention bead are all of carnelian. 

The colors and patterns are exactly as they appear in the rough stone: some beads are deepest orange; others are nearly translucent.  All are beautiful in their variety.  The Our Father beads are accented with faceted garnet rondelles, and tiny gold-color glass seed beads rest between the larger beads, enhancing the light of the carnelian itself.  The cross, too, is of natural carnelian.
