Rich and fragrant, our Assumption Abbey Bakery Fruitcakes are baked by Trappist monks at the Assumption Abbey Monastery in the Missouri Ozarks.  Dark, spicy and laced with an ounce of rum, it's proof of how delicious fruitcake can be!  Jean-Pierre Augé, the chef in the royal employ of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor generously provided the monks with his secret recipe.  It's no wonder the Assumption Abbey Bakery's fruitcake is a Cathedral best seller!

Order early; supplies are limited and sell out fast! Special Cathedral Pricing. (Same Fruitcake is sold by Williams-Sonoma online for $44.95)

"For our tasting, we ordered fruitcakes from five popular sources--all of which have been selling fruitcake for more than 80 years. The Assumption Abbey fruitcake received more first-place votes than any other we sampled, largely because no one element was overpowering. The liquor (rum), spices, and fruit all worked well together. For fruitcake admirers, we recommend the Assumption Abbey Fruitcake."
- Cook's Illustrated, America's Test Kitchen

How they are Made
Assumption Abbey Fruitcakes are dark, rich, traditional style of fruitcake.  Made with fresh butter, raisins, pineapple, currants, citron, walnuts, and wine.  They are baked slowly and aged under the careful supervision of the monks.  Everything, from marinating the fruit, to mixing, to baking, to packaging, to aging, to mailing is done right at the monastery by the monks.  If you're not a fruitcake lover, this will make you one

Assumption Abbey is not a commercial enterprise.  It is a way of life, and that way of life, combined with the careful work of the bakers, insures a dedication to high quality that makes Assumption Abbey Fruitcakes among this country's finest.

of your Eucharistic feast.
We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ
